    Hi David,

I’m trying my hand at exporting to PDF using the pagedown package. Unfortunately, I seem to be having a few issues.

Please see the attached screenshot for my settings. When I knit, I only see the title of the report and no information from the other chunks (tables should appear). Is there something I’m missing? I usually refer to the setup chunk guide: https://rmarkdown.rstudio.com/lesson-3.html

Should “INCLUDE=FALSE” be specified in the setup chunk? In many examples I’ve looked at, it seems to be.

On another note, when I export to Word with the same settings, the tables do appear.

Also, I noticed that when I’m done knitting, the document opens in a new PDF reader called “SumatraPDF”. It seems to have come included with one of the packages I installed at some point, perhaps pagedown? Is anyone familiar with this reader?

I saw your email this morning about your new package, which sounds great. Perhaps this could be an option as well, but I’m anticipating the text editing to be minimal so I’m thinking I may be able to use pagedown for these reports.

    Appreciate your help, David.

    Hi David,

Just wanting to quickly update you on this. I believe the reason my tables weren’t appearing is because I created them with flextable and not a package agreeable to knitting to PDF.

    Thanks!

    Clint

Yup, that’s it! flextable is the only table-making package that works with Word. Let me know if you have any other questions!
