A half-day workshop that will take you from “what is R?” to “wow, I can use R!” Each workshop is limited to 15 participants, giving you plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get personalized feedback. And participants get 50% off the Fundamentals of R course and coaching so that the workshop is only the first stop on your R journey.
Ready to get started on your R journey? This Introduction to R workshop will break R down, making it possible for anyone to learn the most powerful tool for data analysis and visualization.
In a half day you’ll gain some of the fundamentals skills you need to be successful with R. You’ll learn to import data, wrangle and analyze it, and produce visualization to effectively communicate your results. You’ll do all this while working in RMarkdown, the all-in-one tool that enable you to go from data import to final report, all in R.
What Will You Learn?
The material for this course is adapted from the Fundamentals of R course, which has helped many people along their R journey.
RMarkdown allows you to combine all of your work with data alongside your narrative text. No more going back and forth between multiple pieces of software to produce a report — do it all in RMarkdown.
Data Wrangling and Analysis
Using a tidyverse-centric approach, learn to wrangle your data into the format you need. Then see the power of R as you quickly produce a range of analyses on your data.
Why Learn R?
Data scientists, statisticians, and other highly quantitative types love, love, love R. The dominance of hardcore quants in the world of R gives the impression that R is only for them. But that should not be the case.
You don’t need a PhD in statistics or years of coding experience to learn R. Anyone can learn the most powerful tool for data analysis and visualization.
The rest of us are just starting to catch on to the power of R. Folks in evaluation, public health, auditing, social work, and journalism are starting to understand what R can do for us. And I’m delighted to be your guide along the way, helping you as you begin your R journey.
