What's New in R: June 3, 2024
Welcome to this week’s edition of What’s New in R! This week, we’re featuring an introductory workshop on R, a tutorial on customizing ggplot legends, and a walkthrough to help you get a Quarto-based website set up and hosted online. Let’s dive in!
Introduction to R and RStudio Part 1
The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) has many R users. The NHS-R Community recently hosted an online intro to R workshop, which they’ve posted online. This looks like a great resource for those just starting out with R.
Overriding {ggplot2} Legend Keys
When you make a plot, ggplot will make the legend key style match the plot. If, say, you make a plot with multicolored dots, the legend will also show multicolored dots. But sometimes you may want to change the default legend keys, which this blog post by Jindra Lacko shows you how to do.
A beginner’s guide to building a simple website with Quarto & Netlify
One of the major benefits of Quarto is how easy it makes it to develop a website. This blog post by Jadey Ryan shows both how to create a website and how to host it (for free!) using Netlify. If you’ve ever wanted to create a website to share results or for yourself, check it out!
