What’s New in R: August 5, 2024
Welcome to this week’s edition of What’s New in R! This week, we’re featuring a package for making music, a tutorial on making a custom Word template to work with Quarto, and a package that gives you custom shapes you can use in ggplot. Let’s dive in!
{gm} package
If the only thing that has stopped you from learning is the inability to write music with it, you no longer have an excuse. The {gm} package lets you write sheet music and play it from your computer with just a few lines of code.
My word template for Quarto
If you’ve ever rendered a Quarto document to Word, you know the output is a bit … bland. Fortunately, it is straightforward to customize your Word template to make it look better. In this blog post, Andrew Wheeler talks about how he created a custom Word template to use when working with Quarto.
{ggfoundry} package
If the built-in shapes for use in ggplot aren’t enough for you (by the way, check this out), then check out {ggfoundry}. This package gives you some additional shapes you can use.
