Immunization Agenda 2030 Reports
Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) is a set of goals laid out by the World Health Organization (WHO) to improve vaccine access across the globe. The goals have been tracked by an online scorecard, but this method of reporting left several areas for improvement. In 2023, the team at the International Vaccine Access Center at Johns Hopkins University, which works with the WHO on IA2030, reached out to R for the Rest of Us about producing a set of country-level reports highlighting progress toward the 2030 goals.
There were three main goals in producing these reports:
Show progress of individual countries rather than progress at a global or regional level
Use less technical language than the website
Be in PDF format so that they can be printed for review
Working with the Johns Hopkins team, we used parameterized reporting to produce a total of 72 reports. These reports, made in both English and French, highlight country-level progress in a user-friendly way. With the code in place, the reports can be reproduced in the future, enabling longitudinal tracking of progress toward IA2030 goals.
