Congratulations on finishing Getting Started with R!

Don't stop here! There are many resources to help you continue on your R journey. Here are three:

  1. R for Data Science: This book is the bible of the tidyverse-centric approach to working with R. It's got chapters on everything from importing data to analysis to data viz and more.

  2. I've written a book called R for the Rest of Us: A Statistics-Free Introduction. It's available online for free and paper and electronic copies are available for sale.

  3. If you enjoyed this course, you'll probably get a ton out of the next course in the series Fundamentals of R. It covers Quarto (an incredible tool to go from data import to final report all in R), data wrangling and analysis, and data visualization.

Finally, I have a favor to ask: if you enjoyed the course, would you consider leaving a testimonial? I'd be very grateful!

I've been working with R for several years, but looked at this intro just for the heck of it. To my shock, I learned a few new very useful tricks. David is a clear and thoughtful teacher. Don't let the short videos or his calm presence think this is too easy. It is easy because he is clear. But he's also gently (subtly) telling you some REALLY important stuff. He's laying out an excellent foundation for your future work with R. Don't skip this. Build your good foundation with David's guidance.

This helped my confidence as a beginner and it was good to get fairly quick responses to a difficulty I had.

This is a great introduction to using R with Tidyverse. I've been experimenting in R, but have skipped over some things. I appreciate how DK breaks down how read.csv() and read_csv() are different (and easy to confuse). I've not used most of those report features before. While I did encounter an issue with pointblank (my output doesn't update when clicking "Toggle details"), I think it might be a version issue as I've updated to R 4.4.0, which is still new (released 4/24/2024), so I didn't stress about it. I'm about to begin working through the Fundamentals course as well (thanks to my employer).

The course was well structured, and I like the practical approach with small assignments that made me do the same things as is shown in the videos. This material will be a reference for me that I can return back to when facing difficulties in using R in the future.
